The new 2020 C8 Corvette doesn’t seem like a Corvette to most people. More like an Italian supercar, with the trunk at the front, the engine in the middle, and rear wheel drive at the back. This means that the Corvette could be moving away from a sports car to more of a supercar.
Prototypes have been created of Corvettes with a mid-engine layout since 1964. Now over half a century later we finally have one we can drive. The new car has a 6.2 LT2 V8 pumping out 495 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft of torque which makes it the most powerful Stingray ever made.
The exact price of the Stingray is unknown, however it will be under 60,000 dollars which like the last Corvette is a very good deal. A Porsche with the same power costs 80,000 dollars more. However will the Corvette be able to have the precision the a Porsche or any European sports car company has or is it just a big muscle car.
Great article! It will be interesting to see how well the new Corvette handles. But it does seem an excellent value.
